LINEAGE is an excavation of ancestry. It maps the transmission of identity as a living, relational system—fusing the distance between the Volga Delta and the Mediterranean, between individual memory and the collective field.
Born from the kinetic energy of migration, this work transcends the narrative of displacement to reveal the architecture of continuity. It traces how intangible inheritances—cultural codes, rituals, and belief systems—defy geography to reshape the contemporary self.
By weaving the visages and voices of five generations of women, Lineage forms a multi-layered vessel for memory. It does not merely document the past; it creates an energetic convergence where the individual dissolves into the archetypal.
Lineage is not a static record; it is a breathing, affective entity—continuously reconstructed through the act of transmission.
LINEAGE is currently evolving into a participatory art project. Through an open call to women in Mallorca, I am gathering participants and collecting material from their family archives. This material will become the basis for new graphic and sound works that weave a collective memory of ancestral inheritance. Open call form.
